5 inspirational quotes in line with the Women’s March
Recently on ivoh.org we’ve published stories about remarkable women who create art, games, music, poetry, theatre and narratives that challenge boundaries and empower people to create positive change in their communities.
This inauguration day, these stories seem more relevant than ever.
On Saturday, January 21, hundreds of thousands of women gathered in Washington, D.C., to defend their civil liberties and human rights. They stood together in solidarity to carry out the mission of the Women’s March:
“In the spirit of democracy and honoring the champions of human rights, dignity, and justice who have come before us, we join in diversity to show our presence in numbers too great to ignore,” the mission reads. “The Women’s March on Washington will send a bold message to our new government on their first day in office, and to the world that women’s rights are human rights.”
The Women’s March was said to be one of the largest gatherings people with disabilities in American history and spurred other marches around the world. Some are estimating that it may have been the largest demonstration in U.S. history.
We share these quotes from powerful women to inspire you to be the change and to stand in solidarity with women today, tomorrow, and the days to follow.
